Cynicと言えば、1stアルバム"Focus"でテクニカル・デスメタルのシーンを開拓し、それきりで解散したことで有名なバンド（現在再結成済み）だが、1stで見せたスタイルは、妙に浮遊感のある、捉えどころのない音遣いのギターに、ボコーダーを用いた機械的なボーカルと、デスメタル内でも異質としか言いようがないスタイルであった。
一方、このデモ集における作風は何たることだろうか。1991年のデモは、中期Deathを思わせるスラッシュメタル寄りのテクニカル・デスメタルといった趣であり、ボーカルスタイルも吐き捨て型一辺倒という部分で、かなりオーソドックスなデスメタルという印象である。そして、それ以前のデモに関して言えば、もうこれはテクニカルな要素を詰め込んだデスラッシュと言ってしまっても良いレベルであろう。
